Is Vaping Health Risky?
Lots of people are aware that there are several serious issues with electronic cigarettes. They include high rates of addiction, severe lung damage and other health risks. It is hard to argue with the facts and anyone who doubt them should read more. But some people still doubt whether it’s safe or not. The truth is that nicotine can be an addictive drug and the longer you use it, the more it has an impact on your own brain development.
When you compare the number of damage that long-term smoking could cause to your body you may be shocked. The long-term users of cigarettes suffer almost three times as many heart disease deaths and cancer deaths as non-smokers. These numbers do not include deaths from secondhand smoke. Those people who are trying to quit cigarettes could find themselves at an increased risk for certain forms of cancer. This is because they are still transmitting nicotine to their system and in the long-run, their brains will be damaged.
A report published in Nicotine Medicine discovered that long-term users of e-cigs had a fivefold greater chance of developing oral cancer. Those that smoked cigarettes had a onefold increased threat of developing this cancer over the same period. This study published by the American Association for Cancer Research was predicated on a smaller group of people but the results were alarmingly strong. This study published by The American Journal of Preventive Medicine also showed that long-term smokers were at a higher risk of developing gum disease, oral cancer and throat cancer.
A report published in September showed that longterm use of e-cigs may also lead to issues with oral cancer and throat cancer. This study of 715 long term smokers revealed that those that used e-cigs had a three fold increased threat of developing oral cancer. The study also showed that long-term users of e-cigs had a four fold increased risk of developing mouth, larynx or pharynx cancer. Additionally, long-term users of e-cigs had a four fold increased threat of developing lung injury, which can cause short term and longterm health issues. This study published in September also showed that long-term smokers using e-cigs were at a higher threat of having gum disease, especially if in addition they used tobacco.
Also published in September was a study podsmall.com that looked at the consequences of long term usage of a kind of battery operated device called the “vape Pen” on oral cancer. The study project was completed by researchers in the Umea University School of Dentistry in Sweden. This study found that children who smoked using electronic cigarettes had a three fold increased threat of developing mouth, larynx or pharynx cancer. Furthermore, there was a three fold upsurge in the chance of developing lung disease.
In the second half of the year, there were a variety of injuries to electronic cigarette users from the variety of different causes. Most of these incidents involved vaporizing cigarettes containing nicotine along with other harmful chemicals. For example, a Kentucky man died from asphyxiation from smoking a vaporizer that contained ethylene glycol, an ingredient commonly within antifreeze. Furthermore, throat and mouth ulcers were reported in USA citizens because of vapors from e-cigs. There have been also reports of illnesses from being exposed to traces of lead.
Smoking is a killer and a major health risk. It’s never been as dangerous as it is today. Despite the growing concern over the growing amount of deaths from cigarettes and the new findings about the serious health consequences of prolonged nicotine smoking, vaporizers remain popular among vapers. The FDA have not issued any formal guidelines on nicotine levels, so there is no way of knowing whether a certain amount of nicotine will do to send someone directly into a coma or death.
So could it be safe to use e-juice to give up smoking? As the short-term effects may look positive, the long term effects could be devastating. Vaping doesn’t seem to cause any immediate health risks. Nicotine still circulates through your blood. Also, nicotine is a poison, and it will slowly seep into all of your internal organs as time passes. E-juices contain no nicotine at all and are made from all natural, plant-based ingredients.
